Ryan Kalish
BASI Pilates Instructor
Ryan Kalish was born and raised in New Jersey. Ryan’s journey to becoming a Pilates instructor began 12 years ago when he signed with the Boston Red Sox to play professional baseball. Over his12 year career he played in both the minor and major leagues with the Red Sox and the Chicago Cubs. He won a World Series title with each organization! While playing baseball he endured many injuries, resulting in 14 surgeries along the way. Towards the end of his baseball career he was introduced to Pilates as a way to rehabilitate his body. He fell in love with the method, not only physically but spiritually as well. Not long after retiring from his playing career, Ryan began his Pilates education. Ryan completed his training with the world renowned Body Arts and Science International (BASI) program, and was selected to teach at BASI HQ alongside BASI’s founder, Rael Isacowitz.
In the fall of 2019, Ryan was invited to coach and play baseball in Australia. While there, he also taught Pilates at the BASI host studio in downtown Sydney. We are happy he decided to return to the USA, and we are lucky to have him on our team at The Cypress Center! Ryan’s experience as a professional athlete, his compassion for injuries, and his kind yet motivating personality- all combine to make him an excellent instructor!
